HGMS MANDATORY SALE
& AUCTION PROCEDURE

To ensure fairness in all HGMS Sales and Auctions by giving adequate notice to all HGMS Members prior to a sale or auction and to provide for uniformity, the following mandatory rules have been established. These rules do not apply to routine silent auctions at General Membership Meetings or to Section Sales and Auctions.

NOTICES shall contain details about the sale or auction including whether it is a SALE, a LIVE AUCTION or a SILENT AUCTION, what is being sold or auction, and if applicable, the source of the material or item(s) being sold or auctioned.

1. NOTICE shall be published in the Backbender's Gazette, and the sale or auction shall not take place until at least the 16th day after the month named on the issue of the Backbender's Gazette displaying the notice.

2. NOTICE shall be written on the HGMS blackboard at least as soon as the notice appears in the Backbender's Gazette, with a notation not to erase the NOTICE until after the sale.

3. NOTICE shall be given to the webmaster to publish the information on the HGMS Web site at the same time that the notice is provided for the Backbender's Gazette.

4. NOTICE shall be provided to the person who sends out the e-mail notices to HGMS members at the same time that the notice is provided for the Backbender's Gazette.
